SHORT SERVICE COURSE OF THE NIGERIAN POLICE TO COMMENCE SOON- FPRO 

The Nigerian Police Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi on his X.com handle has made it known to the public while replying one @Elder_oloye who asked that “The point is when will police start short service??

He made it known that deliberation is ongoing and that the outcome will be made known to the public in due time.

Southwest News gathered that the Cadet Inspector and the Cadet ASP recruitment process has been suspended for over a period of seven years in the country due to the introduction of The NIGERIA POLICE ACADEMY, which has been producing Cadets to be Commissioned into the Force as ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT OF POLICE. Thereby militating against and reducing the need for the intake of Graduates into the Force.

But, the Force PRO has assured interested well meaning Nigerians in the publication on his X.com handle, that there will be a light at the end of the tunnel as steps are being taken to reconsider it’s commencement. “Short service of the Nigerian Police Force is being reconsidered after its suspension for a while. The leadership of the force and the concerned MDAs are deliberating on it. Let’s wait for the outcome of their deliberations on it.’’ He said.

The Nigerian Police Short Service Course is a type of recruitment in the Nigerian Police that is meant for graduates. This simply means that you need to be a Graduate before you can be able to join the Nigerian Police Force through the Short Service course.

Normally The Nigerian Police does not have any type of recruitment called Short Service course, The only have cadet ASP program and it’s the same thing as Short Service Course.

The Short Service course or commission which is also called DSSC is only applicable in the Nigerian Military. So whenever you hear about the Nigerian Police Short Service course, Just know that they are talking about the Nigerian Police ASP Cadet Course Program.

Nigerian Police Short Service Course Requirements:

  • All Applicant Must be a Nigerian Citizen by birth and posses a valid identification card
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 20 and 30 years as of the time of applying.
  • Applicants must possess a minimum of 5 credits in O’ Level Examinations SSCE (GCE, WAEC, NABTEB, NECO) in not more than 2 sittings, and must have Credit in English and Mathematics.
  • Applicants Must be physically, mentally, and medically fit.
  • You must not have any Criminal record and must not have been convicted.
  • Applicants must not have less than 86cm expanded chest measurement (for males only).
  • Applicants that are female must not to be pregnant.
  • Applicants height must Not to be less than 1.67m tall for males, and not less than 1.64m tall for females
  • You must posses a HND or BSC in relevant courses from a recognized Polytechnic or University.
